Our PSHE curriculum and progression incorporates the statutory DfE Health Education and Relationships Education guidance. Our main PSHE teaching and learning is delivered as a weekly PSHE session where children focus on a particular learning objective. This learning is captured through a variety of ways, such as class discussion, writing, role play, debating and circle time.

Within PSHE teaching at Hampstead Parochial, there is a strong focus on ensuring children learn how to be safe in different situations, the importance of global citizenship and sustainable development, British values and Mental Health. Children also build upon fundamental life skills in areas such as friendships, resilience, problem solving and relationships. Our RSE (Relationships and Sex Education) teaching is part of PSHE and Science teaching across the school and takes place within the Summer Term.

We also incorporate PSHE learning through other events run throughout the school year such as Children’s Mental Health Week focusing on mental health and emotional wellbeing, Internet Safety Week and Healthy Eating Week. We also hold a current Healthy Schools accreditation.
