Our school’s curriculum has been designed to encompass a set of basic principles and it aims to be:
BROAD: The curriculum introduces children to a wide range of knowledge, skills and understanding
BALANCED: Each element of the curriculum is allocated sufficient time relevant to each child’s age and experience
RELEVANT: Curriculum subjects are taught in such a way to children’s lives and experiences both now and in the future
MEMORABLE: The curriculum provides memorable experiences and rich opportunities for high quality learning and wider personal development and well- being
DIFFERENTIATED: Subjects are taught in a way that matches each child’s individual needs and aptitudes
We teach the curriculum content through an integrated, thematic approach. It is underpinned by the subjects of the National Curriculum and designed to maximise the links between subject skills and knowledge in an interesting and meaningful way.
